Colin Thubron, Interview, London 2008

On the occasion of his immensely well-received Shadow of the Silk Road (UK: 2006; US: 2007), the novelist and travel writer Colin Thubron was interviewed in July, 2008 in London. The wide-ranging discussion was published in Bloomsbury Review vol 28 issue 5 (Sept-Oct), 2008, along with an extensive review of Thubron's latest travel book and a short, introductory feature. In the interview Thubron discusses his individual approach to travel writing, how he got started, and what keeps him going.
